In 2011, IMO members passed a motion at the AGM, supporting the Turn Off the Red Light Campaign organised by Ruhama and the Immigrant Council of Ireland and calling for the Government to introduce legislation which makes it illegal for men to purchase sex.
On foot of the IMO’s submission On the Future of Prostitution Legislation in Ireland the IMO has been invited to discuss our views before the Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality on Wednesday 12th December 2012 at 2pm.
The IMO Submission is available at http://www.imo.ie/policy-international-affair/research-policy/imo-submissions-to-extern/dept-of-justice-equality-/index.xml
