1) This meeting welcomes the appointment of the first Consultants in Public Health Medicine under the recent agreement and calls on the Department of Health and HSE to ensure full implementation of the wider agreement across all domains of public health

2) This meeting notes the difficulty in recruiting Senior Medical Officers/Senior Area Medical Officers and calls on the HSE to engage with the IMO on recruitment and career planning for this grade. In particular we would seek a review of the staffing levels in Public and Community Health Departments in light of the agreed staffing levels and the needs of the service and patients, and to identify blockages to recruitment.
