Arising from member queries, this week we wanted to remind members of the rules in relation to incremental credit progression for consultants.

For consultants on the 2012 pay scales you should progress based on each year of service. In addition after March 2019 there was provision for various increment ‘skips’ arising out of national negotiations at which the IMO represented the medical profession. We have previously sent out guidance in this regard.

We have come across instances where this has not been applied appropriately and we have had to engage directly with the hospital to address this issue.
